As a responsible member of the global community, Thinking Electronics recognizes the importance of water conservation, particularly in Taiwan where water resources are scarce due to high population density. Although the company’s overall water usage in production and daily operations is relatively modest, enhancing water efficiency remains a core objective within its broader energy conservation and carbon reduction strategy.
In 2023, the company and its subsidiaries implemented multiple water-saving measures. These included recycling discharge from the reverse osmosis (RO) system for use in air-conditioning cooling towers, reusing RO cutting process water, and introducing new ultrafiltration (UF) and RO treatment systems to recycle water back into production processes. Through these initiatives, the company achieved a total water consumption of 350,276 metric tons, representing a reduction of 43,134 metric tons, or 11%, compared with 2022.
Looking ahead to 2024, the company will continue to upgrade and replace wastewater recycling equipment, with the target of achieving a recycling rate of over 10%.
