THINKING expands the two surface-mount polymer PTC (PPTC) resettable fuse series, KMC series and the low-resistance type KML series, to meet the growing demand for versatile overcurrent protection solutions across a wide range of electronic applications. The expansion includes the addition of new EIA 0402 footprint and 0603 low-current rating models in the KMC series, as well as expanded 1210 high-current options in the KML series.

The KMC series now offers an EIA 0402-size Polymer PTC resettable fuse with hold current (Ihold) ratings ranging from 0.09 A to 1 A, and maximum operating voltage (Vmax) options of 6 Vdc and 20 Vdc. The compact 0402 footprint makes this device suitable for space-constrained designs such as wearable electronics, wireless earbuds, TWS charging case, compact electronic module, and devices where board space is limited and reliable overcurrent protection is essential.

In addition, the KMC series adds low-current models in the 0603 footprint with hold current from 0.01 A to 0.05 A and Vmax ratings of up to 60 Vdc. This low-current, high-voltage combination is ideal for micro-current circuit design, communication module, and low-power IoT device, where precision and sensitivity are critical.

To meet the demand for higher current and lower resistance, the low-resistance KML series expands its 1210-size offering with hold-current ratings up to 9 A. This high-current feature makes the products suitable for applications such as consumer electronic device, lithium battery module, and USB power module.

Both the KMC and KML series now offer a more complete range of specifications and comprehensive agency approvals (UL / cUL / TÜV). Each polymer PTC resettable fuse series provides the following benefits:

KMC Series

• Wide operational voltage ranging from 6 Vdc to 60 Vdc
• Hold current ratings ranging from the lowest 0.01 A to 5 A

KML Series

• Ultra-low resistance to minimize voltage drop and thermal power loss
